Irondequoit: Monday, April 7, 2008 at age 95. Predeceased by her husband, Willard 'Kid' Yates; daughter, Barbara Ling. Survived by her beloved son, Willard E. (Anne) Yates; beloved daughter and best friend, Carol Ann (Larry) Becker; daughter, Patricia Miles; brothers, Robert Williams, Kenneth Williams; sisters, Edna Nulph, Mary 'Renie' (Jerry) Johnson, beloved son-in-law, W. Richard Ling; sister-in-law, Frances Williams; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren;1 great-great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. Ruth was also predeceased by her parents, Laura and Edward Williams; sister, Nora Ott; brothers, Donald 'Ducky' Williams, Leroy 'Bud' Williams, Raymond 'Rum' Williams, Richard Williams, Todd Williams, Walton Williams. Ruth was loved by all who met her. Her attention to detail in her story telling was always captivating. She had a wonderful sense of humor and liked playing tricks on people. She loved a good joke. She was an avid reader and knowledgeable about an array of subjects. She loved to do word jumbo puzzles and read the daily newspaper. She was a long time member of Brighton Reformed Church and spent her life loving and helping her family and she always made time for them. She enjoyed her many ceramic friends. She loved to cook, sew, crochet and received many ribbons for the ceramics and porcelain pieces that she made. Friends may call Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home 1075 Long Pond Road. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday 10:00AM in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Interment, Riverside Cemetery. Please consider honoring Ruth with a donation to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association in her memory
