Ronald James Vogt
Rochester: Saturday, February 3, 2018 at age 97. Predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Geraldine (Betty) E. Vogt; 2 sisters; 2 brothers. Survived by his children, Ronald M. (Carolyn) Vogt of Cape Coral, Fl, Donna (Dale) MacPherson of Massena, NY, Peggy (Warren) Horton of Rochester, NY, Thomas (Marina) Vogt of Mesa, AZ, Carol (Bob) Cole of Rochester, NY; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; dear friends. Ron was a loving husband, father and “Pappy” to his grandchildren.
He served in World War II as an aircraft radio repairman. He retired as a supervisor from the Eastman Kodak Company after 37 years. He was proud of building his own home. He had many hobbies over the years including golf, bowling, running, painting, stained glass work and enjoyed planting his vegetable garden every year. His great joy was in spending time with his family. The family extends a sincere thank you to all of his caregivers.

To the entire Vogt Clan, Your dad was one of the great ones and I always enjoy seeing him!! My trip to Rochester for our 50th class reunion I made a trip to see him!! Dear Ex-Neighbors: Your father was 9 days older than mine and always so energetic. I am so sorry he didn’t make it to 100. It seemed he would. I have fond memories of my brothers and sisters mooching peanut butter & jelly sandwiches in your kitchen with your mother and/or father laughing as the horde of locusts descended. I and my siblings will remember your Pop in our prayers..
Dear family, we’ve had the privilege of living next door to Ron for the last 45 years. Always enjoyed being with and talking to Ron. He was always upbeat and kind, never having a disagreement. He will be missed. God bless you the family as you pass through this time.
Dear Ron, Jr., Donna, Peggy, Carol and Tom (Bomber) — I wish you my sincere condolences on the loss of your father. He certainly was a wonderful man and there is little I can add to the tributes already posted here. Perhaps the longevity of his life may be attributed to the goodness of his heart for family, friends and neighbors. May he rest in peace and may you be consoled by fond memories of your loving father.
