Guestbook

  1. Along with Peter’s dad, H. John Vogt, and grandparents, we have another Vogt Angel to watch over us.

  2. Althought the miles apart are many, I am with you all in spirit. May Bob rest in peace: after a long life of service, he has earned it.
    Love, Jan

  3. Bob,
You are such a hero. You have overcome so many obstacles in your life that most people will never have to face in their whole lifetime. You have always been there for all the people in my family. You will always be my dad’s best friend and I thank you so much for that. Please continue to be with him as his life wihout you will be very different. You have always given such good advice; whether we wanted to hear it or not, and it was always what we needed to hear. Thanks for everything!! I love you and I will miss your wonderful smile!!
    Love,
    Jamie

  4. Condolences to all who mourn Bob’s departure!
…Just discovered that we were 2nd cousins, having shared common Great-Grandparents (John Bernard & Barbara Schuster Vogt). Our kids went to school in Greece in the ’80s. We may have met some of you at the Waylanders’ picnics at Genesee Valley Park in the ’50s and ’60s (Dad grew up in Wayland).
    …Best wishes to all.

  5. Dear Bill,

I want to extend my deepest sympathy with your brother’s death. A difficult time for you and your family and you are all in my prayers.

I am sorry that I was unable to attend the wake or funeral. I had dinner with Sca last night, went to a meeting, came home and read the papers from the last two nights and saw it then. And, I am in Buffalo today.

He is in a better place but the loss is hard for family. I hope you find comfort with the memories.

    Take care, Bill.

    Jane

  6. Dear Nancy & Family,
On behalf of Elaine, Shanna, Randy and myself we would like to express our deepest regards for the loss of Bob. My last visit was while he was enjoying himself playing cards at the Journey Home. We admire his devotion as a husband, father and friend. May his soul rest in peace.

  7. I am very sorry for your loss. I know that your father is in a better place and that you and your family can finally celebrate his life.

    Love,
    Chaz

  8. I dedicate this quote from Plato´s Apology to a good man, his family, and his friends. ‘You too, gentlemen of the jury, must look forward to death with confidence, and fix your minds on this one belief, which is certain: that nothing can harm a good man either in life or after death, and his fortunes are not a matter of indifference to the gods.’ We´ll miss you Uncle Bob.

  9. I knew Mr Vogt thru Our Mother of Sorrows school when he worked there.
Always smiling and then i was happy to see him at the ice cream social with his grandchildren. I know of the Vandermeers and how wonderful of a family they are. Your grandpa is still with you always..much sympathy,
    Love, Lori

  10. I want to say My dad is deeply loved and will be truly missed by his entire family and friends. I had an opportunity to meet and visit with so many people and I appreciate all the support given to Nancy, my sisters and I. I want to share a poem that We felt ..Was perfectly suited for My Dad. I Hope you feel the same.
This is a poem read at my Dad’s Funeral I would like to share it with everyone who could not attend…
    The Measure Of A Man
Not-How did he die? But-How did he live?
Not-What did he Gain? But-What did he Give?
These are the units to measure the Worth
Of a Man as a Man, regardless of Birth.
    Not-What was his Station? But-Has he a
    Heart?
And -How did he play his God-Given Part?
Was he ever ready with a word of Good
    Cheer?
To Bring back a Smile to banish a Tear?
Not-What was his Church? Nor-What was
    his Creed?
But-Had he befriended those really in need?
Not-What did the sketch in the Newspaper
    Say?
BUT-How many were Sorry when He
    Passed Away?

Thanks again for the kindness everyone has shown Our Entire Family during this very difficult time.
    Barbara Higgs

Dad was a special guy. He loved fully and forgave often. He never asked anyone to do anything he himself would not do. He treated people with respect no matter what their lot in life was. I’m so proud to be his daughter. He has left a hole, not only in our lives, but in many lives. He is loved and will be truly missed.

Our dad brought so much cheer and happiness to all that knew him with his great sense of humor and true concern for family and friends. It is a great loss to our family and the community that he will not be with us but the great memories we have will live on forever.

    Dear Dad,
You’re a sweet and precious man; you will always have that special place in my heart. You have been a wonderful dad and friend to me; contributing so much to who I am today. Thank You! This will never be easy and I miss you more than you know but I can find peace knowing that you will never be in pain again. You are in God’s hands now; so do what you want, play all the golf & cards as possible and keep a gentle eye on us (our angel). I am so proud to be your daughter.
