GREECE: Monday, August 18, 2008 at age 60. Predeceased by his mother, Elinor Wood. Survived by his wife of 35 years, Kathleen Smiley; father, Willet Wood; son, Richard (Elizabeth) Smiley; daughter, Karen (Michael II) Swedick; grandchildren, Ella, Alyssa, Camryn, & Madison; many friends. Friends may call Thursday 4-7 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Service will be held Friday 11:45 AM at St. Mark’s and St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1245 Culver Rd. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.

  2. Dear Kathleen & Family, I was so shocked to hear of Richard’s passing away. I just found out from Kathy Vigna. Please accept my deepest sympathy. He He was the kind of person you liked immediately after meeeing him for the first time. He was warm, freindly and full of chatter (smile). He was a wondeful gift God shared with us. I am confidant he is now enjoying the fullness of life at the eternal banquet in Heaven. I will offer a mass for the repose of his soul. Peace & Love! Fr. Conrad (from Buffalo).
