Rochester: July 24, 2014 at age 99. Raymond is survived by his beloved wife of over 74 years, Edna J. (Weitz); loving children, Raymond, Jr. (Karen), James (Mary Lou) & Velora Rice; grandchildren, Julie (John) Schade, Robert (Rosalina), James, Kevin, Jeffrey (Celina) & Michael; many great-grandchildren; brother Mickey; dear friends. He is predeceased by his mother, Isabel & father, Harold.
Ray was born in Oswego NY and was a Custom Home Builder. He was a Licensed Ham Radio Operator and in his spare time enjoyed Antiques & Photography.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Tuesday, July 29th, 9:30 A.M. at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd. Entombment will follow Mass in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

I am Mr. Newstead’s daughter-in-law Karen’s sister and was fortunate enough to know Mr. Newstead for many years. Whenever he was in Greece, New York in the summertime, he would stop by my house with lots of fresh vegetables that he would purchase at Green Acres and give to me. He was one of the kindest and most endearing men I ever had the pleasure to meet. I am so sorry to hear of his passing but know that he lived a long, wonderful life and now he is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior.
