Mauro Petrella Greece: Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at age 60, he went home to be with his parents, Salvatore and Emilia Petrella; sister, Maria Petrella. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sherry Petrella; devoted children, Maria (Aaron) Petrella-Goodwin, Nicholas (Teneal Perry) Petrella, Anthony Petrella; he was expecting his grandchild, Vincent Mauro Goodwin; brothers; Carmine (Sandra) Petrella and Pasquale Petrella; beloved aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; many loving family and dear friends. Mauro was born in Pratola Peligna in 1960 and travelled to America at a young age. He graduated from RIT with a bachelor’s degree. He was the proud owner of Carmine’s Family Restaurant since 1983. He loved working and spending time with his loyal employees and customers as well as enjoyed golf in his spare time. He took great pride in taking care of his family and enjoyed quality time with them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Mauro’s visitation will be held Monday, March 8th 5-7 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson 1075 Long Pond Road. His committal prayers will be celebrated Tuesday, March 9th 10:00 AM at Christ our Light Mausoleum in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wilmot Cancer Center c/o Sarcoma Research 601 Elmwood Avenue Rochester, NY 14642 in his memory. To the entire Petrella Family, Mauro was a man of great spirit & compassion but most of all he was a family man & good friend. He “gathered” those around him creating a positive energy & uplifting spirit. It was always a pleasure to be around him. We will miss Mauro but we are left with so many wonderful memories of him. My first job was at Carmine’s. Mauro hired me personally! I loved working for him. Such a great guy. I am saddened to hear of his passing and will remember him fondly!
wow i just found out my long time friend Mauro passed away 🙁 what a year 2021 has been for me my other best friend who was 60 also passed away in December suddenly. I met the Petrella Boys when I was a Store manager at Monro Muffler Brake on West Henrietta Road. God Bless to Carmine and Patrick and the rest of the family Jeffery
It’s a little late but I just found out about. Mauros passing, I remember the days I’d go in the restaurant after church my daughter used to work there he gave her a job right away she was young she loved it there and he treated her right he was always at that restaurant it was his heart and soul once in a while I’d see Carmine but Mauro was always there I live in Florida now my kids are grown up I haven’t seen him in years just want to say he will be badly missed when I come out and God bless the family
