Mary Wegman

Dear Wegman family,
Bob and I just learned of Mary’s passing. We are sadden by the loss of a great neighbor. We are also sad that we did not know of her passing at the time. Our children have fond memories of their next door grandparents. Thankful we had their love for so many years. Our beloved Maxx (Karl’s fill in dog) also recently passed at the age of 15 1/2. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To My Wegman Family:

I will never forget you, no matter how far away I am. Grandma was an amazing person. She was caring in so many ways. Always knew the right words to say, no matter what the situation would be.

I remember when we would come and visit, or vice versa, and all the love she and grandpa would give us. Grandma and I used to go to my room and play cards. One of my favorites, old maid. I used to bend the card so I would know which one not to pick. She eventaully caught on. Then, we upgraded to UNO. I used to love playing in her kitchen because the cards would reflect off the microwave or off her windows. It was a great chance to win. One time the card game lasted three hours.

Grandma’s house will always be a special place in my heart. It was beautiful just like our family and it reminds me so much of her. I won’t ever forget the smell, or the atmosphere.

Getting back to grandma though, one thing that I will never forget is no matter how tired she got as she became older, she never gave up. Sometimes she may have not been in the mood to play cards, but she never said no.

So I would like to say a special thanks to my Aunt Kathy and Aunt Karen for taking care of her for so long. You two went above and beyond for your mother, and I didn’t want you two to be forgotten.

One thing I would like to say is that I love you all. And that will never change.

Grandma, I always missed not seeing you, but I miss you now that I will not be able to until I am called home to God. It may be a long time, but until than you are in my heart and in my mind. I love you.
