Marjorie Stone Winslow

marjorie winslow
Marjorie Stone Winslow Greece: Saturday, May 11, 2019 of Elmgrove Road passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones after a brief illness but a long and fulfilling life. She was born on December 21, 1921 and leaves behind an extraordinary legacy defined by faith, family, and service to those she loved. She married her sweetheart, Donald E. Winslow on October 16th 1943 and together they spent 48 inspiring years building a family and a life to be proud of. She devoted her life to her children, Donald (JoAnn) Winslow Jr, David (Ethyl) Winslow, Sharon (Arthur) Ehrhardt, Linda (Brian) Convery, Carol Winslow, and many precious grandchildren and great grandchildren dear to her heart. Survived by sister-in-law, Alice (Winslow) Franks and many dear nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her loving husband, Donald E. Winslow, Sr.; parents, Fred and Rose Stone; sister, Helen (Stone) Ensman; son in law, Arthur Ehrhardt; daughter in law, Ethyl Winslow; and great-grandson, Daniel Charland. Known as Marge, by her friends, Margie to her beloved husband, Mom, Ma, Mumsie, Mum, Mama-Margie, by a very special few; Grandma to many, and Gigi and Great Grandma to her dear great grandchildren, clearly Marge’s world revolved around her family and those she adopted as an extension. The steps to her back porch always led to an open door, a hallway that smelled of goulash on the stove or clean laundry in the basement, a cozy kitchen with grandma cake (chocolate with special vanilla frosting) waiting on a plate and many tea cups to choose from to enjoy a lovely cup of tea with her. A visit to her home was never complete without a goodbye wave from her, often on tiptoes, out her kitchen window; she never forgot that. The greatest gifts in Marge’s life were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family and friends are endlessly grateful for all that Marge selflessly contributed to their lives. She will remain in our hearts till we see her again. A celebration of Marge’s tremendous life will be held Thursday, May 16th 10:00 A.M. at St. Jude’s Church Gates, NY. Those attending are welcome to join family and friends following the service for her burial at White Haven Memorial Park, as she is laid to rest beside the husband she unconditionally loved both in life and the 28 years he has been gone. Donations in Marge’s memory can be made to the Gates Public Library for the additional purchase of large print books OR the charity of your choice. Guestbook

  1. Dear Don and Family: I want to express my sympathy on the loss of your mom. I remember her from grammar school days at St. Theodore’s. I will say a prayer for her. She is with your dad and other family members. When I think of my mom and dad I believe they are both in heaven visiting with other relatives and friends that have passed. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. Kim, Your grandma was one great lady. You can see all that from the video below. She had a wonderful life and wonderful family. I know how much you will miss her, but she is a part of your mom, you and Brianna and Dominic. She open the doors to heaven with a smile, she’s home and with the rest of your family and your grandpa. My sincere condolences to your mom and the rest of the family.
