Greece: Thursday, August 30, 2012 at age 90. Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Catherine (Cisternino) Sorge; his dear children, Marty (Joanne) Sorge, Donna (Ken) Yanicky and Cathy (Wally) Piccone; 6 grandchildren, Kenny (Andrea) Yanicky, Brian (Joelle) Sorge, Mare¬sa (Pat) Carmody, Kristin (Phil) Cor¬tese, Matt (Shannon) Piccone and Jonathan Yanicky; 6 great-grand¬children, Tyler and Ellie Yanicky, Ryan and Emma Carmody, Alyssa Sorge and Giovanni Cortese; 3 sisters, Carm Mastrodonato, Dolly Morreale and Mary Ann Abel; 3 sisters-in-law, Bonnie Sorge, Jean Cardinale and Vivien Cisternino; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He was predeceased by 4 brothers, Pat, John, Sam and Joe Sorge. He was a Army POW of WWII and a member of the Keith Miller Post #6595 VFW. The family wishes to thank Dr. Wolff and the staff at the Canandaigua VA Hospice for all their care and love shown to Mario. Friends may call Tuesday September 4th, 4-8 at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road, Greece Chapel. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday September 5th at 10:30 at Holy Name of Jesus Church (Bonesteel St.). Entombment, Riverside Cemetery with full Military Honors.
