Mariah Margaret Fox Turner

Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at age 91, in Rochester, NY, Unity Hospital, due to Covid-19. She was born June 15, 1929, in Taberg, NY, daughter of Benjamin and Viola Webb Fox. For the past eight years she received first-rate care at GrandeVille Senior Living Community memory care facility. She never lost her sense of humor. In her younger years Mariah enjoyed dancing, horseback riding, and, as the talented lead majorette at Camden High School, she trained many young majorettes. She graduated from Hannibal High School and continued her education while employed (lastly as Secretary to the High School Principal) by the Hilton Central School District, Hilton, NY, 1967 to 1987. Married for 63 years to Ronald D. Turner (Nov 1948, Lee Center, NY) (deceased 2012), they always enjoyed dancing, music, cross country skiing, camping and traveling. She was an excellent and avid quilter. Besides New York, they lived in Florida and North Carolina. Survived by sister: Alice Fox Russell; sister-in-law: Nancy Turner Nash; children: Kathryn (Kent) Smith, of Long Island, NY, Donna (Greg) Sommer, Hawaii, Kevin (Kim) Turner, Rochester, NY, Kenneth (Cricket) Turner, North Carolina; grandchildren, Cory (Jaclyn) White, Mathew Turner; great-grandchild, Zoë White; many cousins, nieces, nephews. Predeceased by husband, Ronald Turner; siblings: Barbara, Andy, Emerson, Polly, Evelyn, Mary, Ted, Edward, Benny, Huckle, Billy.

No prior calling. Services and Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions and memories can be shared at dementiasociety.org or mailed in memory of Mariah to the Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA, 18901 in her memory.
