I met Peggy praying the Rosary with her and the other faithful at Wedgewood with our little group from St. John’s. Peggy could hardly talk, with only much trouble because of her Parkinsons, but she wanted to do her part in leading one of the Mysteries of the Rosary and she touched all our hearts with her determined effort to lead a decade of prayers.

After rosary once I read her a beautiful message once from a book or a volume from directionforourtimes.com to encourage her about something she’d said, and she loved it so much! After that her face lit up whenever she saw me and after rosary I’d read to her and a few interested others from the Anne books or from Poem of the ManGod or we would talk about God and Jesus or the Blessed Mother. She loved talk about heaven and God!

Eventually I would come for visits just to read to Peggy because she was the most genuinely and enthusiastically interested. She loved the Anne books, especially the one with the visions of Heaven. And she loved Poem of the ManGod, and could never get enough, and since I can’t either I loved sharing them with her.

She truly thirsted to know more about God and took such comfort in her Catholic practices. She was particularly motivated to offer up her sufferings for the salvation of sinners. I have great hope that this gave wings to her last sufferings.

We moved from the village to Penfield last November because my Dad died (Parkinsons) and I needed to come take care of my mother. It had been easy to see Peggy before but not now. I only once came to see Peggy and read to her after the move. Peggy has been on my heart so much lately, and I wish I have listened and tried to contact her. I am sorry to know Peggy was suffering and I didn’t know.

I hope that Janice or Joseph will please let me know when a Mass will be celebrated for her because I will come. God bless you Peggy. You are with your Jesus now, delighting in Him as He delights in you.
