Greece: Thursday, September 4, 2008 at age 91. Predeceased by his devoted wife, Mae. Cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. Survived by his son, Joseph (Sandy) Ligotti; daughters, Kathleen (Ronald) Knab, Mary Lou (Michael) Pollock; brother, Thomas (Ann) Ligotti; sister, Josephine (Edward) LeClair; brother-in-law, Robert (Phyllis) Shoff; grandchildren, Christina (Kevin) McAdam, Joseph (Pratibha) Knab, Emma Pollock; great-grandchildren, Brittany Knab, Nicholas McAdam; special friend, Betty Schantz; many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Lou was an avid reader and music lover; a proud veteran of World war II, having served as a radio operator in the 9th Air Force fighting throughout Europe. He was a life-long member of Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish. Friends may call Sunday 2-5 PM at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Interment, Webster Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brighton Volunteer Ambulance in his memory.

  8. We were neighbors of Mr. Ligotti for 30 plus years. He and Mae were great neighbors and we would like to extend our condolences to the Ligotti family. We would like to send a mass card to the family if we can get a name and an address of where to send the card. Our prayers are with the Ligotti family members.
