  1. Because of the way that Len lived his life and the examples that he set, I am very blessed to have a wonderful husband and my children have a wonder dad. Len will always have a special place in my heart. I truly couldn’t have chosen a better father-in-law. It was an honor to have know him and to have had him in my life. I love you Len.

    Kim

  2. Dear Grumpy,
I will never forget the day that I saw my Grumpy. I love you forever and I will never forget all the special memories I have with you. I am so special to have you for my grandfather. When I see a butterfly outside, I know you are by my side. I have my very own guardian angel now. All My Love, Zoe (9 1/2).

  3. Dear Nancy & family,
We are so very sorry for your loss of Grumpy. We have so many fond memories and he was such a wonderful man. We will always remember our trips to Rochester, to the beach for fireworks and frozen custard and to the diner for our big family breakfasts before our long drive back to Baltimore. We’re so sorry we can’t be with you during this sad time, but please know that we are thinking about all of you everyday.
    Love,
Gary, Kellie, Steve, Corey & Gabbie

  6. Dear Nancy and family,

I will never forget the wonderful child–hood our children had on Kellwood Drive.
Len was a wonderful guy, and have many memories of our clam-bakes and Len and the men hanging out, sharing stories in one of our driveways. I love you Nancy and know what pain you have gone through with your loved one. All the family is sad, but you are strong and with your family you will be OK.

    Love Diane and family

  7. Dear Nancy and Family,

Len was such a special friend. He was always there for us, no matter what we needed. You are all like family to us and we love you. Don’t hesitate to call for whatever you need in the coming days and weeks and beyond. Bob sure will miss their breakfasts and their talks about cars and all the other topics men like to talk about. He will be truly missed by both of us.

  8. Dear Nancy, children and grandchildren, Words cannot express the loss your family and ours has experienced with the passing of Len. A big brother for John to emulate and one who would always look after his little brother. There will be a void in all of ours lives as Len takes his rightful place in heaven. He left behind a legacy to our families; a strong and kind man, a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather, a protective and loving brother and a devout Christian and child of God. We will miss you, Len, but we know that we will see you again in heaven. Love you, John and Ellie

  9. Grumpy to me was someone who loved and cherished his family more than anything. He was there for anyone who ever needed him and showed me what the word family man really means. I could only wish to be half the man he was and there will never be a day that I dont think of him! To both the Bliss and Murray family I love you and will always be here for you!

  10. Grumpy– where to begin? You were one of the most caring people I have ever known. I will miss talking to you about everything and feeling and knowing that you actually cared about what was going on in my life. You had a special way about you that made people feel special and we will never forget you. I will always remember your strength and the love that you had for your family. You will live on through all of us forever. Love you! Love, Kristin

  11. Grumpy,
I have known you for 25 years and not until you were diagoned did I ever see you take a nap during the day. You were the hardest working man I have known and the most dedicated family man.I enjoyed every family vacation that the family took together. Our family will have many memories to cherish.
    Love, Mike (son-inlaw)

  13. I couldn’t have asked for a better grandfather. Grumpy was an inspiration to me and to this day, I still can’t find a weakness in him. He was always there for me. He was at many of events throughout my life, helped me purchase my first car, took us on great vacations, and most of all instilled values into all of us. Up until his passing, Grumpy fought with all he had and he will certainly be someone I will try to model myself after. I was lucky enough to spend so much time with Grumpy and the memories are infinite. I love you Grumpy, more than you could know.

  14. I don’t know where to begin. Len, you’ve always been such a big part of my life. I’ve always looked up to you and been so proud of the man, husband and father you grew up to be. If the world was made up of men like you, what a wonderful place this would be. I’ll miss you so much. Thanks for all the times that you and Nanc have been there for me.
Say ‘Hi’ to my Dad and Nana for me.
    Love, April (cousin)

Through Mary and Bob Rice, we met up with each other and had several fun outings together. We will miss Len and send out our deepest sympathy to his family.

  18. My Dad – what can I say to express my gratitude and love towards a man that took care of me since the day I was brought into this family. 19. My dearest cousin, My heart aches at the loss I am feeling right now. You were an inspiration to all of the McGrain Cousins. Your grace was beyond explanation. We will so miss you as you were the King of the breakfast club. All the talks we shared about our family tree were so great! I am proud and pleased that you made it to our last breakfast at my son’s restaurant. You will always hold a special spot in mine and so many hearts. I send you off in my heart knowing that your futures breakfasts will be with Jesus. You are truly one of Gods special angels and while on this earth you were ours! Keep sending those butterflies and rainbows to your family as I know they will feel you at their side until you meet again. I will love you always. Kathy

  21. My Grandfather Len Murray, also know as Grumpy, was a good man. He was not rich or famious, but he was the best to me. He had a kind heart and he was a good person. When I heard he died, I almost died right along with him. So you could see we we’re really close. In fact we shared a birthday. I will never forget my Grandfather.

    love for always Caitlyn Broadie

  22. My Grumpy is the best. He is funny. He took me out to breakfast and on vacations. I love him and miss him so much. He said he would send butterflies and rainbows. When I see a butterfly, I will say hi to Grumpy.

  23. Our deepest sympathy to Nancy and the entire Murray Family. Len was a big part of our lives for the past 20 years. Fond memories to always treasure; breakfasts with the gang, miles of walking at Bouckville, milkshakes at Gilligan’s, working on antiques, fish fries, the Vermont B&B, his wristwatch that could do everything, his gentle wave and smile, looking at houses, working in the yard, finding another old alarm clock to restore and add to his collection, tales about travel, talking about cars, family, laughing, retiring. Len was a good neighbor and friend. We will miss him dearly.

  24. Our hearts go out to the Murray family. Marlene was the matron of honor at Len & Nancy’s wedding and Godmother to their first child. Both Marlene & Jim (Sonny) remember this couple as teen agers and throughout their life together with their children. Part of us leaves with Len; the remainder will always be with Nancy.

  25. To the Murray Family,
My deepest sympathies go out to Mrs. Murray, Bonnie, Scott, Cheri, Debbie and their respective families. Great men and fathers like Mr. Murray are hard to find in today’s world. I was lucky to have grown up in a time where the Rice and Murray Families shared such a common bond and values. The friendship that our families have built together will continue to endure time. We will always be here for you.

  26. To the wonderful Murray Family,
We are so happy to have had the wonderful opportunity to have met you and to have spent time with you. My boys have loved you and have thought of you as their ‘adopted Grumpy’. They loved you Grumpy! You and Nanny have always been great to Joshua and Nicholas. You are a wonderful family and are in our deepest thoughts and prayers. You put up quite a fight. You are an inspiration of strength! You will be greatly missed by all! Love to you all, Adrianne Mann

  27. We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the Murray family at this time of loss. Len was a very special person and will be missed by many. We so enjoyed living next to them for many years.
Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.

    Love, The Mills Family

  28. We’re so sorry for your loss Nancy. We loved Len and will miss him. Sunday isn’t the same without breakfast with you and Len after 8:30 Mass. Ron said he’d have to get the car washed and shined before the funeral because Len wouldn’t like to look down and see a dirty car. You and your wonderful family are in our thoughts and prayers.

  29. With our sincerest sympathy and God Speed to a great guy and true gentleman . our prayers go with you and the entire family–
