  9. Dear Terri and Mark, These are times that test your faith. It’s confusing, lonely, frustrating, saddening and difficult-to say the least. These are the times when you can lean on your friends for comfort and support. Just becasue we are Christians doesn’t mean we have answers to why these things happen to good people. I am grieving with you about the loss of your little one, Kathleen Marie, and would like to express my deepest sympathy. According to my group leader, Kevin Brown,God doesn’t like when bad things happen and He cry’s along with us at times like this. I don’t think I can express my sorrow for you and your family very well in this e-mail, but please know that I am here for you anytime that you may need someone to talk to. Here are a couple great books that my group leader recommended along with his description :
‘Disappointment with God: Three Questions No One Asks aloud’ by Philip Yancy is an excellent book that tackles the questions caused by God who doesn’t always do what we think he’s supposed to do. Yancy points to the odd disparity between our concpt of God and the realities of life. Why, if God is so hungry for relationships with us, does he seem so distant? Why, if he cares for us do bad things happen?
‘Why? Trusting God When You Don’t Understand’ by: Anne Graham Lotz. Can you keep trusting God when bad things are happening all around you- when the pain is sharp and the doubt is deep and it’s impossible to see the sense in it all? Anne explains how God can use your most agonizing, baffling trials for your growth and His glory…and how, in the meantime, you can find comfort in His Presence. Kevin is a wonderful leader and a great person to confide and talk to about difficult situations. If you would like to get to know him please let me know ( even if it is only via e-mail). I love you both and I love Kathleen. She is now in heaven watching over all of us. God Bless you and your families. Love and Prayers, Denise

  30. Terri and Mark-
Terri- I wish I could be there with you this week, I hate being so far away. I will be home the first week of May and I will see you then. There are no words for what is happening , and especially no words that I can express in this e-mail that would help you right now. What an amazing little life the two of you have brought into this world. Kathleen was only physically here for such a short time but what foot prints she has left on so many people’s hearts. Many didn’t get to hold her, and meet her in person but she has made herself so known to all of us. She has reminded us what is truly important in life, she has reminded each of us what it means to love and be loved, and she has reminded us that we have an importance and meaning here on this Earth that we have yet to begin to understand. She may have been here only one short day but we are so proud of that little angel. No one can begin to understand what you two are personally feeling or what you need right now so please just – Know that you are both loved very much, you are supported and when you are ready we are all here for you always.
    Your Friends Always
    Love,
    Michelle and Michael Marino

  31. Terri and Mark, A friend of mine said it best, I think. Kathleen is an angel now and she’s watching over her mommy and daddy. I love you both.
