Kathleen F. Staub

Our dear, dear mom departed “God’s waiting room” on October 5 and is now at peace in Heaven where she joins her loving husband of 66 years, Robert Francis “Bob”,   She is predeceased by her parents, George Paul “Pat” and Frances Elizabeth “Frankie” (Meyer) Flanagan and her sweet “Sissy,” Patricia Ann Henry.

Kathleen is survived by her loving and devoted children David M. (Kathleen Cahill) Staub, James P. (Irene Jewell) Staub, Mary Frances Staub- (Dennis) Carr; grandchildren, Joseph & Dr. Milner Staub; Bridgid M. Staub; Daniel & Erica Staub;Corey and Kayla Jewell; great-grandchildren. Boyce; Charlotte; Asa; Joseph; and baby girl Staub.  She also leaves behind dear sisters-in-law, Louise Staub and Jean Staub and several very special nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.  Mom will miss you all very much but know she holds an extra special place in her heart for everyone of you who made her last 94 1/2 year journey a beautiful one.

Kathleen was a woman of faith and a dedicated volunteer for many organizations but especially for Our Lady of Mercy parish of which she was a devoted parishioner and, with dad, a founding member.  Mom was an excellent homemaker – a terrific cook and a wonderful hostess who always welcomed family and friends to 35 Northgate – entertaining with her special touches.  She enjoyed a good laugh, good music, gardening, hummingbirds, dinners and outings with long-time friends the Gordiniers, Finks and HIlers and the Zinks, Barkers and Kennellys.  She also enjoyed great friendships with Northgate neighbors, family vacations in the 1000 Islands, travelling with dad, Uncle Paul and Aunt Louise and simply being the best wife and mom she could ever be – one who was always there for us.  We are eternally grateful mom!

Our family thanks the “angels” at Wegmans (Ann’s) Cottage 300 for your care and friendship, helping to make mom’s almost two year stay the best possible.  We also send special thanks to Dr. John Robb for your compassionate care and concern for mom right up until her last day.

In memory of Kathleen, we ask that you please say a rosary, perform an act of kindness, be kind to one another, volunteer or consider making a donation to a charity of your choice.

Her Mass of Christian burial and graveside service are private; though, a celebration of Kathleen’s life will be held in her honor at a later date.
