Survived by his children, Mark Schmidt, Eric Schmidt, Kathy Ann (Carroll Ballard) Schmidt, Karla (Vince) Gaetano; grandchildren, Kristy Lynn Elliot, Karl (Simone) Schmidt, Eric Schmidt, David (Katy) Cooper, Timothy (Kale) Cooper, Amanda Cooper (Matt Zimmer) Steven Ballard, Emily Ballard, Jonathan Novitsky, Patricia (Alan) Oates, Vincent F. Gaetano (Goli), Samantha Gaetano (Chris), Karl Gaetano, Francesco (Jamie) Gaetano, Jakob Gaetano; great-grandchildren, Kendal Novitsky, Ava and Lucy Oates, Bryce and Cayden Cooper, Chase Zimmer, Everly Gaetano; many dear friends. Karl was a proud Army veteran of the Korean War.
No prior calling. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday (July 16th) 10:00 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Church. Private Interment. Eric, Mark and family, so sorry for your loss. I remember meeting him at the fruit stand on St. Paul Blvd. many years ago with my Mom. Big strong guy with a big heart. So lucky to meet and become friends with his sons. Your all in my prayers.
