Spencerport: Jytte Lise (Gudnitz) Palazzolo lost a long, courageous battle with cancer on May 20, 2013 at the age of 75. She passed peacefully in her home. She is predeceased by her parents, Knud and Karen Gudnitz, daughter-in-law, Anne Becnel Palazzolo, and brother-in-laws, Ralph Palazzolo and Bent Bach. Jytte is survived by her loving husband, George Palazzolo, children: Mark Palazzolo, Yvonne (Delano) Pohlson, and Tina Leiker, and four grandchildren: Michael Palazzolo, Maddison Leiker, Nicholas Leiker and Alexander Pohlson. Surviving family includes sisters: Inge Gudnitz, Hanna Gudnitz, Bente Gudnitz, Sonja (Raul) Bach de Vera, and Marianne Gudnitz; brothers: Erling (Merete) Gudnitz and Gert (Ingrid) Gudnitz; brother-in-law, Sebastian (Ross) Palazzolo; sister-in-laws, Lucy (Louis) Giglio and Sandy Palazzolo and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Jytte met George while he served in the US Army in Germany. After a wonderful romance, they married in Denmark November 27, 1960. Jytte courageously immigrated to the United States where she and George began their family. Jytte was all a family could ever wish for as a mother and wife. She lived a life of self-sacrifice in order to provide for her children and husband. Her kindness and compassion for others will always be remembered as well as her endless love for her family and friends. Having her with us has added to our humanity, and the loss of her can only be equaled by the love that she brought to us and everyone around her. Jytte's visitation will be held, Wednesday, May 22nd, 4-8 P.M. at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road, Greece Chapel. Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 23rd, 9:30 A.M. at St. Theodore's Church at 168 Spencerport Road, Rochester, NY 14606. A reception will follow Mass. Interment will be held privately in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The family wishes to thank all of her caregivers, especially those at Highland Hospital and the Wilmot Cancer Center.
