Joseph A. Cortese Sr.
Greece: August 4, 2022 went home to be with his parents, Charles and Jeanette; brother, Patrick; son, Patrick.  Survived by his loving wife, Barbara; sons, Joseph Jr. (Emma), Michael and Charles; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie (Maria) and Chuck (Lori); nieces, nephews & cousins; many loving family and dear friends.
Joe worked as a supervisor and technician for Rochester Water Dept., he was the original founding member and director of Sons of St. Lucy.  He enjoyed going to Italian-American restaurants and the casino’s.  He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Joe’s visitation will be held Monday August 8th 4-6 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson 1075 Long Pond Rd.  His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 9th 10:30 AM at Parish of the Holy Family (St. Jude’s Church) 4100 Lyell Road.  Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to the School of the Holy Childhood in his memory.  For more information and to sign his online guestbook, visit www.meesonfamily.com

    Joe has always been and will be in our thoughts and prayers.
    My favorite cousin is gone, he was a true pillar to our family.
    Everyone will miss him. He was a great man who loved his family with all his heart and soul.
    His suffering is over but his memory lives on.
    I know we didn’t see eachother much but he was always in my heart. The endless family memories will never be forgotten.

    Sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. He was the hub of the Saint Lucy crowd, and whenever we met, he was a ton of laughs. We didn’t get to meet often, but I’ll miss him and keep him and Pat in my prayers.
