Rochester: After a brief illness passed away on April 15,2019 at age 97. He was a World War II vet and was a Rochester City Fireman for 25 years. He was predeceased by his first wife Arline. Survived by his wife, Jennie Maenza and his 5 children; Michael (Susan) ,Suzanne, Judy (Len) Almekinder, John Jr. Margaret (Gary) Makowiecki; his 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Hildebrandt Hospice house for the care and attention they gave to John.
No prior calling. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday (April 23rd) 10:00 AM at Messiah Lutheran Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center or Messiah Lutheran Church Memorial Fund in John’s memory. My deepest condolences, I am so sorry to hear of Johns passing, I worked with John for several years at the old Ridge Road fire station (E-10 T-8). John was a great guy with a great sense of humor, he will be missed.
