Greece: Passed October 30, 2017 in Palm Harbor, Fl. Predeceased by his wife, Ruth Ann Duggan; sister, Maureen Duggan; sister-in-law, Suzanne Duggan. Survived by his devoted brother, Patrick E. Duggan; loving nephews, Patrick M., Michael M. & Dennis S. Duggan; loving family and dear friends.
John was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and active member of American Legion Post #468. He was a past Vice Principal of Greece Athena High School and will be deeply missed.
John's visitation will be held Sunday, November 5th 1-4 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Rd. Entombment will be held privately in Riverside Cemetery. John, you are a great teacher, mentor and friend, You helped me in finding a great path in my life. I will always remember the days in shop class with you at Greece Arcadia, and our friendship. Greece Arcadia Class of 1969. RIP friend and Thank you for your service.

John was a great human being and educator. We knew before we were born that we were coming to the
earth for bodies and experience and that we would have joys
and sorrows, ease and pain, comforts and hardships, health and
sickness, successes and disappointments, and we knew also that
after a period of life we would die. We accepted all these
eventualities with a glad heart, eager to accept both the favorable and
unfavorable. We eagerly accepted the chance to come earthward
even though it might be for only a day or a year. Perhaps we were
not so much concerned whether we should die of disease, of
accident, or of senility. We were willing to take life as it came and
as we might organize and control it, and this without murmur,
complaint, or unreasonable demands. John lived a great life indwell be sorely missed.
Very sorry to read of the loss of Mr. Duggan. I was one of his pupils at Greece Olympia in the early 1960’s. He was one of my favorite teachers. I learned quite a bit on mechanical drawing and his shop classes , that helped me in my future career. Rest in peace.
