Greece: Monday, July 6, 2009 at age 63. Survived by her husband of 42 years, Thomas Hinterman; son, Andrew Hinterman; daughter, Rebecca (German) Lopez; brother, William (Sherry) Sorensen; sister, Mary Anne (Robert) Balmer; granddaughter, Sofia Lopez; several nieces, nephews and cousins; many dear friends. . She was an active member in her church, the PEO, Early Birds Bowling League and a volunteer for the ESOL program at Parkland Elementary School in Greece. Janet was a longtime member of the Youngstown Wives Club and served as an LPN at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY. No prior calling. Her Memorial Service will be held Sunday July 12th at 2:00 PM at Greece United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Greece United Methodist Church (1924 Maiden Lane; Rochester, NY 14626), PEO Sisterhood Chapter BZ (c/o Judy Graham, Treasurer; 155 Biltmore Dr.; Rochester, NY 14617), or the University of Rochester School of Nursing (http://www.son.rochester.edu/son/friends/ways-to-give) in her memory. Friends and family are invited to visit our home for informal sharing between Saturday July 11 and Monday July 13 between 2:00 and 5:00 PM.

I have such great memories growing up across the street and sharing many good times with all of you since our good ‘ol Brookshire days. ‘Mrs. H’ was a wonderful woman and she will be missed. I think I will always remember her voice and see her smile as she often greeted me ‘Hi Kir’. God Bless.

  3. Dear Tom and family, I am saddended to hear of Jan’s passing. I think of Jan and so many memories come to mind of our early days at St Marys and the fun we had there despite it being ‘work’
    I also remember her confidence that she would overcome her illness and see her children grown up. I know you all miss her and her joy and love of all will continue to live in all of you. Dianne
