Gerhard Roesner

Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at age 89.  Gerhard was born in Germany in 1934.  He emigrated to the United States in 1956 with his wife and daughter.  He was a Tool and Die maker by trade.  He worked in his trade for many years and in 1966 started his own company, Lakeside Tool and Die.  This eventually transitioned into Triplex Industries.  He had two sons during the 60s and felt it was time to become a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1969 and was proud to be an American.

Gerhard was a member of the German American Sports Club, a private pilot-enthusiastic aviator, and an avid outdoorsman.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Liselotte, three children, Christa, Kurt (Pamela) and Steven (Anita); much loved granddaughters, Victoria and Stephanie; nephews, Karl and Ludwig; dear friends.

Gerhard’s visitation will be held Sunday, September 10th 1:00 PM -4:00 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson 1075 Long Pond Road.  His Celebration of life will be held in the chapel of the Funeral Home, Monday, September 11th 10:00 AM.  Interment, Riverside Cemetery.  For more information and to sign his online guestbook, visit www.meesonfamily.com

On behalf of the Federation of German American Societies of Rochester, please accept my deepest condolences. Gerhard was for decades an active and welcomed guest at every Federation function, with a mile-wide smile. He will be missed.

I used to play soccer for the German American Kickers during the 80s and would sometimes get to talk to Gerhardt after the games. He was a lovely man. Very sorry to hear of his passing.
