Hilton: Unexpectedly, December 30, 2009, surrounded by his loving family, just 8 days before his 100th birthday. George is the founder and C.E.O. of Geo. DeRue Contractor, Inc. Predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Helen (Froelich) DeRue; brothers, Peter DeRue, Philip DeRue and John DeRue. He is survived by his children, Earl (Dolores) DeRue, Elaine DeRue, John (Linda) DeRue; 7 grandchildren, Cheryll (William) Irwin of Bakersfield, VT, Laura (John) Gardner of Lyons, NY, Douglas (Angela) DeRue, E. Michael G. DeRue, Debra (Michael) Haskins, Melanie (Thomas) Lavacca & Corey DeRue; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Abram DeRue of Fairport, NY; many nieces and nephews. George's family would like to extend a special thanks to Nancy Bovee of Angels in your home for her caring service. Friends may call Sunday, 1-4 P.M. at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Service will be held following visitation at 4 P.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment held at the convenience of family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to ABVI-Gooodwill or to the American Heart Association in his memory.
