George Albert Wikander

Greece: Sunday, March 14, 2021.  George was born October 8, 1946 in Rochester, NY.  He went home to be with his parents, Ernest J. Wikander and Veronica G. Wikander; brothers, Ernest Jr. and Joseph.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Karen Rose; loving daughter, Sandra M. (Christopher) Sliss; siblings, Karen B. Wikander (Judy Mate), William Wikander (Hurdon Hastings III), Michael (Brenda) Wikander, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Naylor and Veronica “Ronnie” (Jimmy) Juliano; mother-in-law, Margaret Butler; brother-in-law, Bryan Liddle (Lynn Starling); several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; many cousins; good friend, John Bopp.  George loved dogs, especially Windsor.

George worked for Eastman Kodak Co. for over 30 years and as a guard at the Kenneth B. Keating Federal Building in Rochester.  He was known for his jokes and patriotism.  He enjoyed watching TV, including the Yankee’s and Pittsburgh Steelers, and outdoors sports.  He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, visiting the Hawaiian Islands and the Adirondack’s.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Nurse’s, Tech’s and staff at Unity 4200 wing for all their love and support.

George’s visitation will be held Saturday, March 20th 10 AM – 11 AM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson 1075 Long Pond Road where his Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM.  Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
