Greece: Friday, November 6, 2020 at age 83. Predeceased by her husband Robert J. Monahan; parents, Elmer & Coralie Church; sister Phyllis Lilly. Survived by her children Kathleen (Walter) Hahn, Daniel (Andrea) Monahan; grandchildren, Kristin, Carina, Connor, Erika; siblings, James Church, Ellen Eckhoff, Elmer Church; many loving family & friends.
Frieda was born in Gouverneur, NY and retired as a Rochester City School District teacher. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was characterized by her love for people. She will be deeply missed by all.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Rochester Presbyterian Home Creekstone and hospice for all the compassionate care given to her.
No prior calling. Her Graveside Prayers will be held at Riverside Cemetery on Tuesday, November 10th, 1:30 PM. Please meet at the gate. Dear Family ~
I had the pleasure of working/teaching with Frieda many years ago at School #41. When I joined #41 – my very first teaching gig – Frieda quickly took me under her wing. As often as I thanked her for her guidance and patience – she always responded by telling me she was learning from me as well. We quickly became friends and would sit around after dismissal chatting about our day. I will forever be grateful for her kindness & leadership – those memories will be with me forever.
