Rochester, NY: February 5, 1913 - July 18, 2007. Edrys Ross, 94, formerly of Whitehall, NY, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2007, at Rochester General Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Mr. Ross was the youngest of eight children born of James and Sarah(Thomas)Ross of Whitehall, NY. Predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Bernice(Vallio), in 1992. Survived by many friends and family, especially Marguerite,Soupie and Eddie Ross. Mr. Ross was an Army veteran of World War II, a retiree of Eastman Kodak Company and a member of the New York State Free Masons Lodge 96. His friends may call to celebrate his life on Friday, July 20, from 5-8pm at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 2692 DEWEY AVE. A graveside ceremony will be held in Whitehall, NY at Greenmount Cemetery, 2pm on July 27. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to a charity of your choice.
Not a day goes by that we don’t think of. We visit your house every day to keep it in the great shape that you always did. We miss you very much our dear friend. It was very hard to say goodbye.
So saddened to find out about the passing of Mr. Ross. We lived across the street from him on Glenthorne Rd from 1978 to 1988. Our children loved him and I think he really enjoyed them too. We have so many fond memories of our years there and he was part of them.
