Dorothy (Dot) Schmitt Callahan

3/20/1944 – 12/10/2023

Rochester: Loving wife, mother and grandmother. Predeceased by her parents Hank and Bea Schmitt , her sister RuthAnn Cholach, and husband Garry (Broken Back) Callahan. Mother to James (Nerissa) , grandmother to Brennan and Jameson. Sister to Richard (Linda) Schmitt. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews, and many loving friends who cared about her. Dot lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling and has adventured to many places including Alaska, Hawaii and Egypt. Dot was an avid reader and supporter of local theatre. Her happiest moments were spent seeing a show, shopping with her daughter in-law, listening to Jim’s stories, and supporting her grandchildren in sports and scouts. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Friends may call Thursday, (Dec14th) 4:00-6:00 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road. Her Family Prayers will following calling at 6:00 PM. Private interment.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to BlackFriars Theatre and the Rochester Public Library.
