May 15, 2023, at age 67.Β Predeceased by his parents, Jack & Elaine Mellema; brother, William Mellema.Β Survived by his lifetime companion Mary Jo Geist; children, Heather (David) Boyce Mellema, Kevin Mellema, Adam (Andrea) Geist, Justin (Susan) Geist and Jared (Christie) Geist; grandchildren, Chad Magin Jr., Emily Geist, Zachery Geist, Lilyana Geist, Gavin Geist, Hunter Farrell and his grand pup, Bullet; siblings, Lloyd (Karen) Mellema, Brenda (Jim) Pentycofe; many nieces and nephews.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Don at the YMCA. I am shocked and saddened.
We were so sorry to learn of Don’s passing. It seemed he was way too young. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the family. May happy times and good memories help at this time, and may he rest in peace.
