Diana Kao

Thursday, October 26, 2006, peacefully at age 94. She is survived by her son, Yen T. (Julia) Tan and grandson Derek Shieh Tan and relatives in Hong Kong. Dr. Kao, formerly of New York City, was Professor and Chairperson the the Asian Studies Department at City University of New York before her retirement in 1982. She is the daughter of Gao Jianfu, a well-known artist in south China, and Gao Wong Sung-ming. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Meadows (Chestnut Court, Parks) on Johnsarbor Dr., Thursday, November 2, at 3:00PM
