Gates: Thursday, March 18, 2010 at age 86. Predeceased by his son, John; parents, Anthony and Anna. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Angelina and devoted father to sons, Daniel (Debra Sciolino), Robert and daughter, Laurie (Stephen) Kastner; daughter-in-law, Adele Veltre; brother Ralph; brothers-in-law, John DiMarco and Phil (Jean) DiMarco; sister-in-law, Laura Bertolone; grandchildren, Daniel, Justin and Joseph Azzarone, Renee (Jim) Holtz and Ashley Kastner; life long friend, John Williams; special family friends, Marilyn Wells, Marie Campomizzi, Lena Presicci and Debbie Sharp. He retired from the US Postal Service in 1979 after 34 years and enjoyed 31 years of retirement. He was a member of St. Jude's Parish for 42 years, St. Jude's Senior Club, Knights of Columbus and NARFE. He served in the US Army during World War II. Friends may call Sunday 2-6 PM and Monday 4-7 PM at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday 10:00 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 4100 Lyell Rd. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Jude Church or the American Diabete's Association in his memory.
