Greece: March 6, 2011 at age 91. Charlie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janet (Pert) Roumpapas; children, Eleni Roumpapas, Simeon (Rosalie) Roumpapas, Susan (Thomas Acciari) Roumpapas & Margaret Roumpapas; grandchildren, Kevin, Chelsea & Emily; several nephews and cousins; many dear friends. Charlie was a long time Restaurateur and owner of the Plaza Coffee Shop, Country Snack Shop and Jan's Restaurant. Friends may call Thursday, March 10th, 4-8 P.M. (Trisagion will be held at 6 P.M.) at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 11th, 11 A.M. at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 962 East Avenue. Interment in Riverside Cemetery.

  6. he was a great friend and mentor to my family.He helped my father with his restaurant in the 70’s with recipes and his famous bleu cheese dressing.Also loved listening to his stories and jokes he will be greatly missed!

  7. I was so sorry to hear about Charlie’s passing. I always loved it when he would call me on the radio and say ‘Helloooo, Maggie!’ He will be greatly missed. We are praying for you and your family.

  9. Janet and family, so sorry to learn of Charlie’s passing. He loved the restaurant business but always spoke more fondly of his family and heritage. He was such a good friend of my father’s for more than 50 years. I suspect they are causing a bit of havoc in heaven already.
