Charles J. Pellitere

Greece NY: Called home to be with our Lord, Friday, February 24, 2023 at age 92.  Predeceased by his devoted wife of 58 years, C. Norene “Dolly” (Meli) Pellitere; his son, Charles J. Pellitere, Jr; parents, Peter and Jennie; his siblings, Paul, John, Frances, Janet, Michael and Anthony.  Survived by his beloved Daughters, Sandra (Gary) DiStefano, Susan Kingston (Kenny Gann); cherished Grandchildren, Charlene (Steven) Lochner, John Gary DiStefano, Cheryl (Nathan) Schutt, Alexander (Melissa) Kingston, and his father, Richard. He delighted in his Great-Grandchildren, Carolyn and Elizabeth Lochner, Magdelynn, Ezekiel, Josiah and Abram Schutt; Loving friend, Sue Morris; sisters-in-law, Marguerite Meli, Lois Meli, Anne-Marie Allocco; his Godchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Charles was a proud Army Sergeant of the Korean War.  He worked at Bond’s, Meli Construction and the Greece Library.  He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Elk’s Club and a member of the American Legion Post 468.  Chuck played alto sax and clarinet in many bands throughout his life, most recently the GateSwingers Big Band.  He painted many beautiful pictures.  His travels with Dolly took them around our country and many other countries as well.  His love of life, sense of humor and his strong Faith and Love of family and friends made any life he touched brighter.

Friends may call Tuesday (Feb 28th) 4-7 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road.  His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday (March 1st) 10:30 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Church.  Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Rochester Calkins VA Clinic or the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center in his memory.  For more information, or to sign Charles’ online guestbook, please visit Meesonfamily.com

    I had the pleasure of working with Chuck ( and Sandra) at the Greece Library.Always friendly to everyone, a dedicated employee and friend to all. Always had the coffee going, and the DVD’s ready for patrons! My sincere condolences to your family. Clare Maloney
