Rochester: Peacefully, surrounded by her family, Sunday, November 12, 2023 at age 87. Survived by son, Lawrence Resch; daughters, Donna (Robert) Geil, Sheila (John) Hooker, Sandra (Daniel) Rockafellow and Carla (Terrence) Vick; brother, John (Carol) Prietz; grandchildren, William and Katherine Resch, Michael (Heather), Andrew, and Benjamin Rockafellow, and Connor and Tristan Vick; great grandchildren Hadley and Judah Rockafellow; step-grandson, Robert (Jessica) Navratil; step-great-grandchildren, Robert, Brody and Mason; many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Predeceased by parents, Ernest and Lucile Prietz; husbands, Eugene Resch and Kurt Gurgel; son, Mark Resch; grandsons, Peter and Hunter; brother, Paul Prietz; sisters, Gratia O’Heaney and Linda Dole.
Carol was a member of a number of choirs in the Rochester area. Music was a passion of hers. After having 6 children, her career outside the home began as a Manager of the Business Office for the Park Ridge Nursing Home. She eventually retired as Business Office Manager from Park Ridge Chemical Dependency. She was a receptionist at Monroe Podiatry for her dear friend, Dr. Maurice Palucci. She loved meeting people and telling stories.
Family and Friends may call Thursday (Nov 16th) 4-7 PM at Vay- Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday (Nov 17th) 11:00 AM at the First Congregational UCC (The White Church), 65 Church Street, Spencerport, NY 14559. Interment, Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Park Ridge Chemical Dependency in her memory.
