Carol DeCamilla Tripi At the age of 77, Carol DeCamilla Tripi of Charlotte, peacefully joined our heavenly father on March 20, 2024, in Greece, NY. Carol was born to A. Frank and Helen DeCamilla on January 7, 1947, in Rochester, NY. She is survived by her spouse, best friend, and love, Salvatore J. Tripi (Sal) after 28 perfect years of a marriage full of love and laughter. She is also survived by her children, Joseph A. Tripi Esquire (Renee Peck), Terri Ann Cuccurullo (Dennis), Kristina Strauss; her grandchildren, Alexander Strauss (Kris Treanor), Jolynn Tripi, Hudson Tripi, Noah Cuccurullo, and Lilly Cuccurullo. Carol was an avid reader, loved Elvis, the Rockettes, puppy Cameron, and ocean beaches. Martha’s Vineyard was her favorite vacation spot where she and Sal created lasting memories. She worked for Planned Parenthood as a rape crisis counselor for over 20 years making a difference to all that she touched. Carol had a passion for gardening, flowers, and all things beautiful. Her beauty and kindness shined from the inside out. She will be missed dearly on this earth while she carries us from above. Sal would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ron Toomey, her aide since 2021, good friends Lynda Campbell and Kathy Sheehan, and Cousin Debbie Parker for their unwavering love and support during Carol’s final journey. “You are family to us.” An additional thank you to the St. Charles Borromeo Parish family and University of Rochester In-Home Hospice. Carol also leaves behind a daughter Shannon Petch. Friends may call Friday (April 5th) 3-7 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday (April 6th) 11:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3003 Dewey Ave, with Father John Firpo officiating. Private Interment. Donations may be made to the Sexual Assault Services in Central & Western NY | RESTORE (restoresas.org) or to St. Charles Borromeo Church in her memory.

Sal, we just saw this today, and are deeply sorry. Although we have fallen out of touch, the memories of our cherished times together, your wedding, our boating trips, dinners out, and just hanging out, will always be special parts of our lives. Carol was a special person, truly a gift to you and your family.
Dear Sal , So sorry to hear of Carol passing. You did a remarkable job of caring for her . Your love for her radiated from you all the time. She is not suffering any more . She is peaceful . Sweet Carol was a beautiful childhood friend right from kindergarten. I remember sitting right behind her in first grade at Holy Cross. I used to wish my hair was like hers as it was perfectly styled every day, by her equally beautiful mom, Helen. I’m so sorry for her suffering these past years…. We were able to gather a few years ago with several other friends from HC. We had lunch in our beloved Charlotte, at Hose 22, and then to Abbotts after for custard. It was a wonderful mini reunion and Carol was thrilled to be there, especially with her loving friend Kathy. So grateful for that special time. My deepest sympathy to her family… how blessed she was to have a devoted husband by her side for so many years. Rest in peace sweet Carol….

Carol was a remarkable person who I first met in 2013 when I joined Planned Parenthood. Her big heart was visible to all who worked with her. She always had a kind word and a smile for her colleagues. As a leader and member of the sexual assault services team, Carol truly made the world a better place. I am so sorry for your loss. My heart aches for y’all. I wish I could give my condolences to you in person but I know you don’t need me to tell you what an amazing person Carol was and all the good she shared. Thank you for sharing Carol with us!
