My condolences to Bonnie\’s family. We knew each other from work. Bonnie was thorough and took pride in doing a good job but what impressed me was her caring nature. We hadn\’t seen each other in a few years and I am sorry we lost touch. I would have liked to have been there for her when she needed someone. Bonnie, when I think of you, I knew I had meet a good soul with a wayward spirit. Rest in peace friend!

I just read the In Memoriam listing in the Rochester Review (the U of R publication) and saw Bonnie Kaleta’s name. She was a fellow student and fellow food service worker during my time at the U of R (1973-77). I am saddened by news of her death. I also extend my condolences to her family and her close friends. In my time at the U of R she was a delight to cross paths with. She had a lovely, winning smile and I remember her wild blond hair at the time. She was a spirited and very friendly fellow student who I can readily picture in my mind. I plan to check out my own yearbook from 1977 to see if I can find a photo of her in it, despite she being in the graduating class that preceded me. College was for me, at times, a daunting experience, sensing that I didn’t quite know what I was about and nervous in my studies. Bonnie was a human being’¦.a ‘real person’ to say hello to in my comings and goings on campus and at the Danforth Dining Hall where we both worked. I imagine Bonnie having a full life in the years following her time at the U of R, and that she came to delight many others besides me in the life time. I am grateful to have known Bonnie in those youthful college days, and will remember the warmth and friendliness that she brought my way at an important time in my young life.
