Greece: Friday, July 24, 2009. Predeceased by his grandson, Michael Sheets. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Lou (Vay) Lester; sons, David Lester, James Lester, Timothy Lester; daughters, Nancy (Zachery) Brice, Patricia (Michael) Grady; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandsons; many nieces and nephews; many dear friends. Arthur was an Army Veteran and a lifelong member and current commander of the Keith Miller Post # 6595 VFW. He was a retiree of the Rochester City Fire Department after 32 years.
Friends may call Sunday 4-8 PM at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 10:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice in his memory.

Art was always a fun guy to work with at RFD. A real family man who will be sadly missed.

Dave and I will always remember seeing Mr. Lester’s smiling face in church! And selling us the ‘Packer’ car! Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone.
I will miss Art at rehab and talking about our ‘great golf game’.

Mr. Lester was a truely kind and loving man. Always speaking of his family and how he loved so much to spend time with the grandchilren. With always a kind word to say and a wonderful smile on his face. I will miss him. My prayers are with you all.
