Entered into eternal  life, joining the love of her life, Charles R. Monachino, Jr. She is survived by her pride and joys, Charlene (Bill) Carpitella and Denise (Gary) Nacca.  Alma is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Dr. Christopher (Christina) Nacca, Keith (Jessica) Rodak, Jason (Brittany) Nacca, Lisa (Cullen) Baker, and her future great grandchild, Emiliano Nacca.

She is survived by her sister, Dolores DeSimone, sisters in law, Mary Monachino and Marie Martella.  Pre-Deceased by her parents, Dominick and Eleanora Sasso, In-Laws, Charles & Frances Monachino, Frank V. Monachino, Salvatore DeSimone, Frank Martella, and Joseph and MaryAnn Monachino.

Alma was also a retiree of 30 years at Rochester General Hospital in Finance.

Her love for her family showed in everything that she did.  Her example of love is a legacy that her family blossomed from and will continue to carry on.  She was always dressed to the nines, her hair always perfect, her pink lipstick, and a class act throughout her life.  She exemplified the true meaning of unconditional love.

The family would like to thank Unity Hospital and the staff of 4400 for their excellent care .  We are beyond grateful.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to JDRF Alliance, Albany Northeast Chapter, 950 New Loudon Road, #330, Latham, NY 12110 in her memory.

  1. My deepest condolences in the passing of Nana. We all loved her so much May God hold her in His Holy Light

  2. Dear Charlene and Denise,
I loved Alma so much. She was so beautiful. She always spoke to me about how proud she was of her family and how wonderful her daughters and grandchildren treated her.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire family.

  3. Charlene and Denise,
It seems like just a short time ago you were saying good bye to your Dad and now your mom. I am so sorry.
I thank God for giving us the gift memories. So many laughs and so much fun we all had together. Your parents were inseparable. A true love story.
Now they are reunited in the body of Christ. What a great reunion it will be for the two of them. Our tears are for our own losses as we will miss them here with us. I will be covering you both in prayer as you walk thru this very difficult season. My love to you both your cousin Michele

  4. Charlene,
I only met your Mom once and it was at your Dad’s funeral. She was so kind to me and spoke to me as if I were family. I see you have followed in her footsteps as your heart is as kind as hers.. Sending you love and lots of prayers of comfort and strength. Love you. Deb

  5. So sorry for your loss (family) especially you girls. Didn’t know she was ill. We saw each other at exercise class and some chats on the phone. I understand from the office she had left for the hospital and she passed away so quickly.
Hope you all are doing the best you can under these circumstances.
My prayers are for you all! Jean from the Gardens Apartments (Ange and I were neighbors across the hall on the secod floor).

  6. Denise and Charlene
I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was like a second mother to me when we were young and I spent so much time at your house on Avondale Rd. So many great memories and my favorites were of Alma and Charlie together and your dad always kidding with her and makng her laugh. Your parents did everything together and were a true picture of what love should be. Alma was beautiful inside and out, her outfits, her hair and jewelry were always perfectly put together and she always made you feel special and loved. May you find comfort in your memories and that she will always be in your heart.

  7. Charlene and Denise,

I am sorry your mother went through so much pain. I know how difficult it was for her, especially after the loss of your father. I am glad they are together once again – I will miss them both.

    Much love,

  8. To Alma’s family, we are so sad to learn of Alma’s passing. We have many wonderful memories of her and Charlie. She’s now with Charlie listening to him play and sing to her. Our condolences.

  9. Denise and Charlene, I am so sorry to learn of the passing of your mother. Thinking of you and yours during this difficult time…❤️ 🙏🏻… May Alma RIP.

  10. Denise, Charlene and Family, We all loved your mom, grandmother, I want you to know you have been in our prayers, prayers for comfort for your sorrow and peace in knowing that Aunt Alma is truly in a better place.
