Greece: December 25, 2012. Alfred is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean Monk; children, Thomas (Patricia) Monk & Bonnie Jansen; grandchildren, Leslie (Aaron) Allen, Jessica (Joseph) DiBattisto, Erica Jansen and Peter Jansen; great-grandchildren,, Carson, Madison & Peyton; brother, Lewis Monk, Sr.; sisters, Mary Jane Cox & Janet Huether; several nieces, nephews and cousins; many dear friends.
Alfred is a Veteran of the United States Navy and was a 50+ year member of the Ira Jacobson American Legion Post #474. His family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Edna Tina Living Center for their outstanding care and support.
Friends may call Friday, December 28th, 4-7 P.M. at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, Greece Chapel, 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Service will be held following visitation at 7 P.M. in Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held privately in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Rochester Chapter (www.alz.org/rochesterny) in his memory.
