Rochester: Passed away at home, age 88, on 10/22/2024 after a lengthy hospital stay.
She was born in Mansfield, PA in September 1936, daughter of Manford E. Brockway and Lucinda Packard. She is survived by her sister, Mary Glaspey (Jim); close cousin Pat Wilson; and several other cousins in the Packard and Brockway families; her children, David Jessup (Marcia), Mary Winch (Jim), Wayne Jessup (Helga George), Joel Jessup (Teena); grandchildren: Alan Jessup, Katie Shook (Andrew), Nathan Jessup (Lindsay), Nicholas Jessup (Emily Pierce), Brian (Laura), Maureen (Charles); great-grandchildren: Blake, Kylee, Piper, Carson, Hope, Daniel, and Aubrey. She was pre-deceased by her sister Lucy Ann and her brother Alan. Her husband Ralph H. Jessup also sadly passed away in 2008 – 2 months shy of their 50th wedding anniversary. Linda survived for 12 years after a bout with cancer, and was able to stay with her relatives as they moved from Rochester to Chicago, then back to Rochester. Linda enjoyed crocheting despite having lost sight in one eye to glaucoma during that previous battle with cancer. She continued to create afghans, hats, and stuffed animals, and delighted in bestowing them upon family and friends. She was a lover of all aspects of nature and nature conservancy.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a nature conservancy of your choice in Linda’s memory.
A memorial celebration will be held at the convenience of the family in the Spring of 2025.

So very sorry for the loss of your mom. Cherish all the beautiful memories you had. May she rest in peace.
Sincerely
Colleen
Linda was a class act, and I’m so grateful for the time I spent with her talking books and Star Trek. She’ll definitely be missed.
