Our Uncle Emmett was our mother’s (Mary Lou Neary) youngest brother who is remembered as a gentle fighter from his early days to his elderly youth. He always found the goodness and humor in all of life, family, Irish song, Guinness and Schaller’s. He was a poet with whit who would sing unapologetically. He was passionate about goodness while poetically calling out evil; especially through song and he had so many more verses to write. Some in the family feel he died a happy man, and who could ask for more? Emmett Neary could. I know he regrets not being able to cast one more early vote in the most important election of his life. Uncle Emmett, you improved the quality of so many lives and while you were no priest, thank goodness, you sure were a saintly man. Great job on a life well lived and cheers to you!
    Love,
    “Janice, Buck & Ree”

My dear friend Mike Neary is your work of art; he is how I know what a great & loving man you were. And every time we met, you were always kind, sincere, sharing your heart & extending your friendship. I loved hearing you sing with Mike’s band, & watching you be so caring with Janet. You will be remembered & missed by so many. A rare & dear man.

Mr. Neary was truly an extraordinary man in an ordinary world. His compassion and kind heart was evident in all that he did. He and Janet gave the world three beautiful loving children who make the world a better place every day of their lives. They were taught to live their lives with kindness, understanding, inclusivity, and genuine endeavors that improve the lives of others. They lead with honesty, generosity of spirit , and helping hands. Together his children, his grandchildren, and his family will carry on following his example. This is his legacy that he leaves behind. What a marvelous legacy indeed! Rest in peace Mr. Neary. I am better for knowing you.
