Nancy Taylor Oberholzer, born on April 26, 1940, in Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024 at the age of 84. Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Richard Oberholzer (Dick), to whom she was happily married for 34 years. Nancy is survived by her three children: Christine Meyer (Christopher), Michael Oberholzer (JulieAnne), and Elizabeth LePage (Steven). She was also a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren.
Nancy attended Ohio University, where she met her future husband and completed her undergraduate degree in Education (English and Social Studies). She ultimately completed her master’s degree and spent many years teaching in the Greece Central School District. Nancy volunteered in the community as well as being an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Greece, NY.
Nancy’s passion for traveling took her all over the world and allowed her to gather countless stories, which she loved to share with family and friends. An avid skier, Nancy enjoyed numerous ski trips and was an active member of the Rochester Ski Club, where she made many lifelong friends and memories.
Nancy’s life was a testament to the joy of exploring new horizons and the importance of sharing those experiences with loved ones. Nancy will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her to live life to the fullest.
Friends may call Saturday (June 29th) 11:00-1:00 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road, where her Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Nancy’s memory to a charity of your choice.
Here lies Nancy T O a lady so grand,
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, a wonderful land.
On April 26th, she came into play,
In 1940, on a bright spring day.
She lived 84 years, full of cheer,
And peacefully passed on, with nothing to fear.
Her dear husband Dick, predeceased by fate,
Married 34 years, what a loving mate.
She leaves behind children, a wonderful crew,
Christine, Michael, and Elizabeth too.
With spouses Chris, JulieAnne, and Steve,
Seven grandkids, her legacy they weave.
At Ohio U, she met her true love,
Studied Education, a gift from above.
In Greece Central Schools, she taught with great zest,
English and Social Studies, she gave her best.
A volunteer in the community, so kind,
At St. John’s Church, her heart you’d find.
She traveled the world, stories galore,
With family and friends, she’d share and explore.
An avid skier, down slopes she’d glide,
With the Rochester Ski Club, she took great pride.
Friends and memories, she made for sure,
A life so full, so rich and pure.
Nancy’s spirit, so lively and bright,
Will guide us all through day and night.
Her adventurous soul, forever will steer,
Inspiring us all, year after year.
So here’s to Nancy, a life so grand,
With laughter and love, she took a stand.
Though we’ll miss her, her light will stay,
Guiding us always, in every way.

Nancy was my first roommate with the Rochester Ski club. I think it was a ski area in either NH or VT. We both lost our husbands and we’re able to share fond memories of them. Laura Hameister
Loved attending Rochester Ski Club meetings for years and watching Nancy O as she was fondly known by all, give new members their RSC pin, and of course placing a kiss on the the cheek of all the males. And who can forget all the parties she organized in her room on all the ski trips over the years. Nancy was so much fun and so dedicated to the club. It really was a privilege to have known her and enjoyed her crazy antics, bringing smiles to all who knew her. God bless her. She is truly irreplaceable.

My first memory of Nancy and family was on a ski week in Stowe. She organized gourmet lunches for her crews d they all obviously enjoyed their time together. Julianne and Mike are testimony to her parenting. Sending love.
As our family pours over pictures of your rich and fulfilling life, I find it so unreal that I was present for so few of your lifelong adventures because you were here for all of mine. No matter how much I hear of your many roles in life before I came along, I cannot picture you as anyone but Grandma. The grandma who always had a story to make me laugh. The grandma who listened to my horrendous cello comcerts and took me to the Red Lobster every year for my birthday. And most importantly, the grandma who loved me unconditionally. So, I am writing this as a reminder to myself to take joy in all that you brought and added to my life. To be grateful for every second I spent with you while I had the chance. To not focus on my sadness, but to instead celebrate that you were and will always be part of my life.

So sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom, I remember her well on Black Walnut …. although we didn’t know her in her skiing years, I am quite sure we would have enjoyed that as well ! Sending you my condolences. May she and your Dad be skiing in the heavens above !
So many things come to mind when thinking about Nancy. We played Bridge for 30+ years, and were in AAUW and book club together. Nancy always had a story, often, more than one…she always looked so chic in her tight little jeans and cute vests….she shared so much of her family with us, we feel like we know you all….she made the best soups,…her Christmas decorations were awesome….she never locked her front door!….when she forgot she was hosting bridge and we all showed up, she just got out the wine and chips and the nite went on. Her enthusiasm and zest for life was contagious, her generous spirit was ever present, and she made us laugh at ourselves as she herself did. She was one feisty lady and I am so grateful I knew her. My condolences to her family. She has made her mark on this world and will be missed.
I was friends with and used to compete against her son, Mike, in cross country and track in the early 1980’s. I also had her as a substitute teacher when I was in junior high. Through my friendship with Mike, I was fortunate enough to get to know Mike’s whole family. I always remember Nancy and as being so kind. My condolences to all of you for your loss.
