Virginia “Ginny” Mary Krembel
In the early morning of May 3, 2024 Virginia “Ginny” Krembel passed away peacefully at Unity Hospital as a result of heart failure. She was 77 years old.
Ginny was born in Rochester, NY on January 6, 1947 and was the first child born to Ruth Lenore and George Maynard Krembel. A graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, she enjoyed a business career with Eastman Kodak and Kaufmann’s department store. Committed to self-improvement, Ginny attended classes in technical writing, digital photography, and tax preparation.
Family and friends were Ginny’s first priority. She cared for her parents in their later years and cherished her neighbors and friends from church and her numerous activities. Her interests were varied: gardening, playing golf, bowling, traveling and sporty cars to name a few. Her pride and joy was a bright yellow, 2015 Camaro SS, with a 6.2 liter V-8. Active in her community, Ginny volunteered at St Charles Borremeo Church, the Greece School District, and several other civic organizations.
Ginny is survived by her brother Dennis (Connie) of Shalimar, FL, niece Meghan Edwards (Tyler) of Overland Park, KS, nephew Matthew (Anne) of Manhattan KS, and 5 great-nieces and great-nephews.
A debt of gratitude is due Ginny’s many friends and health-care providers who were ever-present to lend her support. Heartfelt thanks also, to the entire staff at Unity Hospital for their caring treatment during Ginny’s last days.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday (May 10th) 9:30 AM at St Charles Borremeo Church. Private interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Barnard Banquet Hall, 360 Maiden Lane. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Childhood at www.holychildhood.org in her memory.
Ginny always appreciate knowing that she was remembered in my prayers and those of my community. She’d call me about once a year for a l-o-n-g and delightful conversations. She was so spirited and full of the joy of life! She’d share her plans and also her health struggles as a prayer intention. She was always concerned to know if we needed anything and we faithfully remembered each others birthdays. It was a privilege to accompany her and her family in prayers during her last days. Ginny may you rest in the peace of Christ!
