Melonie A. Briggs
7/28/1980 – 10/7/2022
Predeceased by her parents Bradley and Leslie Briggs. Survived by her daughter Hope Lillis, son Mason Lillis, sisters Jennifer Briggs, Stephanie Quarantello, brother-in-law Frank Quarantello, Michael Spalty and all the many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandparents, friends and coworkers she loved along the way.
If anything was larger than Mels life it was her personality. She lived by her mothers last request to make at least one person smile every day. She loved fiercely and defended the ones she loved even more fiercely. She was a protector and would always open her home if someone needed a place to stay. Mel had a big heart and a giving nature. She was able to connect with anyone and made friends wherever she went.
Melonie had a captivating spirit. She had a way of instantly capturing peoples hearts. Much in the way she was able to capture so many beautiful moments in pictures. Her creative personality led her to her real passion in landscaping. Beginning with handcrafting decorations and potted planters to sell at a garden center to the opening of her landscaping business Emerson Flowers. Mel was never afraid of hard work and you would often would find her covered in grass clippings. She had a natural ability to grow just about any plant or flower and turn a seemingly dead plant into one thriving and full of life.
Mels sense of adventure took her to some of the most beautiful places in the country. She loved to travel and explore new landscapes. Every time she’d return it would be followed by the phrase ‘It changed my life’. Her love for music always travelled with her too.
Of all of Melonies accomplishments the one she was the most proud of was being a Mother. Her children were her inspiration. Nothing made her smile more than her two kids. She went above and beyond to make holidays and celebrations special for Hope and Mason. Making her kids happy was her life mission.
Mel would want to be remembered for the incredible strength she had. She would want her life to be celebrated and she would want to leave behind a little bit of her spirit in everyone she interacted with. Most of all Mel would want all of the love she had for her children to never be forgotten.
She is a once in a lifetime person.
She leaves behind quite a legacy but her two smart, funny, beautiful amazing kids are by far her best ones.
Friends may call Thursday (Oct 20th) 4-7 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road. Her Prayer Service will follow calling at 7:00 PM in the chapel of the Funeral Home. Private Interment.

At the end of the day is THAT really the focus or even important? …… and should it be asked in a public forum meant for leaving your condolences?!
You were in my life for such a short time. But you brightened it for the short time you were there. Just like the sunshine today making it’s way through the clouds. Thank you for letting me see you shine.
