Concetta Zagari

Concetta was born in Sinopoli, Italy July 28, 1941 and shared many of her stories growing up there. She died peacefully at home, per her wishes, surrounded by love and family on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at age 80. Predeceased by her parents, Paolo and Maria Surace, brother Frank Surace, sister Grazia Surace and granddaughter Kristiana Marie Kampf.  She is survived by her loving daughter, Dr. Mary (Don) Zagari Kampf MacLeod, ever-present significant other, Gennaro DiFilippo, and son Vincent Zagari; devoted and loving granddaughter Delila Constance MacLeod and adoring grandson Anthony Francesco Kampf, as well as other grandchildren Jessica Zagari, Danniele (Zagari) Robinson; a great granddaughter, Lilly; siblings, Angelina, Franca, Joe, Rosa, Carmela ; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Her loving and attentive grandchildren were the light of her life and she always put her family before herself. Despite confronting numerous obstacles and enduring countless disappointments in her life, she persevered. Her loving and strong spirit will be deeply missed.

Concetta’s visitation will be held  Sunday March 27th 1-4 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson 1075 Long Pond Road. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated  Monday March 28th at 9:30 AM  at Sacred Heart Cathedral.  Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to  The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), in Concetta’s memory.  For more information and to sign her online guestbook visit www.meesonfamily.com

    My grandfather was born in Sinopoli. We visited in 2017. I believe there are still some Zagaris there. Condolences from the Carzo family.
