I had the pleasure and the honor to work with Danene at UR Medicine Homecare Care since 2004. In 2015, I became the "Pink Team" manager, and Danene became the senior RN on our team. She was my right hand. She was strong, confident, caring, and had all of the answers. Danene was the definition of a Home Care nurse and over the years even took care of my own family. She made everything ok. Danene was a terrific role model to her peers and trained so many of the successful nurses I know today. Danene lit up any room she was in. Her laugh and her spirit were infectious. She made you laugh if you were sad, and she would lift you up on days when you were down. I also had the opportunity to share the hockey mom passion with Danene, and see what a great mom she was to Tanner and Brayden. She was so very proud of them. Rest in Peace Danene. I love you. Your light will continue to shine through all you have touched, and you will be in my heart forever.

I will miss you so much Danene. You brought light and laughter to my life! I will miss talking about life and laughing about the silly things during our appointments. Such an amazing mom to those wonderful boys. You will always be in my heart ♥️

Danene was such a bright light in many people’s lives, every time she can into the office she was so full of smiles and her bubbly personality she would brighten your day. She never made you feel like you were bothering her, she always made time for me and my many questions through the years. Danene was a great friend and coworker I will miss her and her wonderful personality so much. Rest in peace Danene.

I cannot tell you how sorry I was to hear this the other day. My heart aches for you all… Danene wasn’t just a lovely person. She was special. She had such a heart and a beautiful soul. A true Martha with a servant’s heart and so gifted in her work with people. From the time she was a teen (when I first met her) she simply shone with grace, wit, warmth and humor… and a special brand of caring that made her amazing at her chosen career. I am sorry, Sneddon crew… so very sorry. I heard this in disbelief and it still seems impossible… I am so very glad to have known your beautiful girl.

Our hearts are broken with the incredible loss of this amazing young woman. I was blessed to be able to see our little Danene Bean grow up to be the absolute light of her parents life. She brought so much joy and laughter to us all. Her special gift of caring for others was just one of the things that made her so special. She cared lovingly for her Gram in her final days. GiGi loved her so much and I am sure was there to greet her. I will always keep her close in heart and mind. Love you Danene, Aunt Diana

We met Danene visiting our daughter Jenine Hoffman this past fall. I had heard so much about Danene over the years and I knew she meant the world to my daughter and family. I met a kind, funny, loving woman, a fantastic friend, and I will always remember her with the huge smile she greeted me with and the warm hug and her calling me mom. She had that rare ability to make strangers feel instantly at home. The hole she leaves in this universe will never be closed, but she’ll be held close in the many hearts of everyone who loved her. I’m so glad I got to meet her.

So I’m going to miss that contagious smile and humor more than anything. I worked with Danene in home care and also got to spend time with her watching our boys play Lacrosse. I also had the opportunity to get hit in the leg by one of her softball pitches our senior year, playing against her. I think there is still a mark. LOL. She was so sweet, even then, and ran up to me to apologize to make sure I was OK. I am a better person for being blessed to know her. I will continue to pray for her, her wonderful family, and those two beautiful boys.

My most sincere sympathy to Tanner and Brayden, Mr. and Mrs, Sneddon and Danene’s entire family. I had the honor of working with Danene for the last 17 years and can attest to her being a superior nurse. Her patients and coworkers loved her. She was no nonsense and could let patients know what they needed to do, but did so in a caring and fun way. Her sparkling smile was effervescent. She was a bright light in the UR medicine home care family and our hearts are heavy with her loss. Tanner and Brayden, you meant the world to her! She was so proud of you. Your mother was always telling stories about you and her eyes would twinkle as she did. Keep her in your hearts and know that she will continue to influence you with the memories and insights she has given you through the years. I am so sorry for your loss.

Knowing Danene at Baywinde was a real gift for myself, the staff and especially her residents. She was loved by all. One of her most special gifts to the residents was redoing her gorgeous wedding for the residence at Baywinde, complete with all the gowns and tuxes. So thoughtful and so enjoyed by everyone. A bright light has been dimmed, and I send my love to her family and friends. Bless you, Danene, for the joy that you brought to all.

What she did for my mom I will be forever grateful…above and beyond the call of duty. Her tender care and soft nature was loving and welcoming. Our family is forever grateful to her. God called her because he needed her. God speed, Danene. Thankful to have met you.

Where to even begin.. I remember my very first day by myself in home care calling Laura crying because I was scheduled to care for a patient that I had no idea how to take care of her needs, Laura told me not to worry that danene would meet me there to help me. I remember being almost in tears in this patients driveway thinking to myself there’s no way I can do this job if I can’t take care of the first patient that was assigned to me, but danene showed up and said “ooh hunny don’t worry I got you.” She was the most kind hearted and patient nurse I have ever come in contact with. I can’t even count the amount of times I called danene asking for help being unsure of myself and my skills, or the amount of times she dropped what she was doing to come and help me. From the daily phone calls to discuss patients to the weekly, or sometimes daily venting sessions to the end a of rough week blue barn visits. She was always laughing, always smiling and always there for you no matter what you needed, and I will be forever grateful for the years I was able to work side by side with her and all the invaluable lessons I learned from her. To Danene’s parents- thank you for raising the most selfless and caring person I have ever met. The amount of people life’s she has touched and the amount of nurses she has helped shape throughout the years will never be forgotten. ❤️

We are going to miss all the fun times when we had family get togethers. We will always remember the trip to Branson when you and Tara watched “Pretty Woman” 21 times in Uncle Gary’s “Pimp Wagon”. We always had so many laughs and good times when we were together. Our family has suffered such a tremendous loss. We will always cherish the time we spent with you. Heaven may not know it but it just gained a beautiful angel who is the “Life of the Party”. Forever in our hearts, Uncle Gary, Aunt Shirley and Cousin Tara

  24. Jodi Penoyer on February 5, 2022 at 11:58 am

How do I put into words a friendship that has lasted almost 44 years? Danene and I have been through the best of times to the worst. Regardless of the situation she had my back! Danene always put her boys first and made sure they didn’t go without. What an amazing person! Danene is truly an angel looking down on us all now!

  25. Kurt and Terri Brosi on February 5, 2022 at 1:08 pm

My fondest memories of Danene go back to our childhood and the times shared at family functions. Danene’s smile and perkiness always lit up the room. She was a caring and genuine person that was always looking out for others, especially my Father when he was in crisis during one of those get togethers. We will miss her and remember her every time we encounter someone performing an act of kindness in this harsh world.

  26. Donna DeMarco on February 5, 2022 at 1:56 pm

I know Danene through our work at UR Medicine Home Care. Although I never met her face to face my position in the Quality Department allowed me the pleasure of talking to Danene on the phone. No matter how stressful my day might have been as soon as I answered my phone with my usual "QAPI this is Donna" greeting and heard that beautiful, happy voice that always responded with "Hey Donna! It’s Danene!" my stress was gone. She had a way of doing that. We became Facebook friends and I could see from her pictures and her radiant smile how much she loved her boys and how much they love her in return. My heart aches for Danene’s family. God Bless ❤
