“Gene”
Rochester: Thursday January 27, 2022 at age 75. Predeceased by Ashley Nagel, Ken Nagel, Richard Nagel, Gene Sr. and Phyllis Nagel.
Survived by his wife of 32 years, Anita Nagel; his children: Gina (Michael), Christopher (Wendi), Stacy (Jim), Stephanie (Mark); his grandchildren: Anthony, Gabriella, Olivia, Stella, Nate, Henry; his sister, Beverly (Steven) VanTroost; several nieces and nephews. Gene was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Company. Gene enjoyed Photography, Bowling and golf.
No prior calling. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday (Feb 3rd) 10:30 AM at Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Ave. Private interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ashley Nagel Scholarship at Holy Cross School, 4488 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY 14612; The Aquinas Institute, 1127 Dewey Avenue, Rochester, NY 14613 or Gladwin Hall, 7A – Canandaigua Veterans Affairs, 400 Fort Hill Road, Canandaigua, NY 14424 in his memory.

Anita, Stephanie, and Stacy, I know all too well how painful it is to lose a loved one, but I hope you can take comfort that Gene is now safely in the arms of our Lord and no longer suffering. My love and sympathy to all of you.
Anita, Stephanie, Stacy and all of your family have lost a great man. The last two years were difficult but I remember the light in his eyes especially with you and of course his beautiful grandchildren. Linda and I are making a donation in his name to Aquinas. Gina & Chris, My heart is breaking knowing how hard your Dad’s passing is for you. It doesn’t matter how old you are, loosing a parent is devastating. Try to remember the loving, happy times. Gene, I knew this day was coming, but hoping it would be much later. I’m sorry for all the suffering you went thru in the past few years. I know you have to be in a better place.
