Joyce Marie Resch Greece: Tuesday, September 28, 2021.  Predeceased by her husband, Joseph E. of 40 years; parents, George and Mary Simonds; foster parents, George and Helen Whelehan; siblings, Richard, Donald, Kathleen, Marlene and Kenneth.  She is survived by her step-children, Joseph E. (Alex Lichtenstein) Resch Jr., David P. (Diane Lawson) Resch, Stephen J. (Karen Mestler) Resch, Kevin J. (Mary Flannery) Resch and Christopher R. (Joanne Celano) Resch; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marcia Simonds, Michael (Camille) Whelehan; Marcia (Hank) Reynders and Marie Whelehan; sisters-in-law, Thelma Lochner, Madeline Resch, Lorraine Resch and Carol Gurgel; several nieces, nephews; many loving family. Joyce was a proud teacher and taught in many parochial schools.  She retired with the city school district and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Joyce’s visitation will be held Sunday October 3rd 1 -4 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson 1075 Long Pond Rd.  Her mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, October 4th 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, Greece NY.  Interment, Holy Ghost Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church or St. Joseph Neighborhood Center in her memory.  For more information and to sign her online guestbook, visit www.meesonfamily.com

    I hope that the memories that you have of Joyce surround you with love during this time. She would always speak and smile whenever I ran into her. She loved the family. Be a blessing.

    May the memories of Joyce help to comfort you in your loss. My prayers and sympathy are with you at this time. I was one of her friends and colleague at #35 School and remember her as a kind, caring teacher.
