Enjoyed staying in touch with Barb after she taught our girls years ago. She continued to care about the girls and their successes, after all she was a big part of that! A lovely person and a treasure. We are so very sorry for your loss and sadness.

Surely it is a loss, this very special friend and teaching friend of mine. We knew each other 40 years, and never ran out of topics to discuss as we continued to gather for a meal once a month in our retirement. She weathered many battles physically, yet always remained full of hope, interested in others, inclusive, ready to laugh, full of fun, her heart spoke loudly when her feet couldn’t always take her where she wanted to go. She was a team player always, and most of all loved and cherished her family and only granddaughter. I am a better person having spent so much time with Barb, and will miss her presence .. She was courageous as she journeyed her bodily needs, and now lives with Victory. Love you Barb

Mrs. Czajka was my third grade teacher and lived around my neighborhood growing up. I loved being in her class. She inspired me to become a teacher. I will always remember her sharing The Polar Express with my class at Christmas time. Each year since I began teaching, I make sure to read it to my class, and I always tell my students about the wonderful teacher who shared it with me. Thank you for being such a kind and compassionate teacher. You made a lasting impact on me. RIP

Barb was blessed with an uncommon amount of common sense. She was a great lady and will be sorely missed. Love and Prayers, Dee Bush

Meeting Barb at Buffalo State Teachers College began a friendship that has continued through the years and miles apart. We were roommates, bridesmaids in each other’s weddings. I remember sitting in the back of class at BSTC knitting sweaters for our boyfriends, who later became our spouses. We were told it was okay as long as we didn’t make noise. I can still hear her say “Oh, No, Charlie Brown”! I can’t watch a Peanuts show without thinking about Barb. I am so grateful for having visited with Barb and Duane about three years ago in their new apartment. She had such a flair for decorating. And I am grateful for our phone conversations and emails. There is an emptiness in my heart that I know is shared by everyone who knew and loved Barb. I will walk a meditation labyrinth to honor Barb during her funeral Mass on Friday. Continued prayers of strength and comfort to Duane, Jeff, Christopher and extended family in the days ahead.

I did not know of Barb’s passing until her birthday. I feel very sad as she was a wonderful friend and co-worker at Fairbanks Rd School. Please accept my sympathy.
