Philip was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Over his life, with Jennie at his side, Philip ran many successful businesses including a Hair salon, a deli, and real-estate. His greatest pastime was making wine that many enjoyed. Once retired a love of travel was ever present, even moving for some years to the US Virgin Islands and Florida, but always returning to Rochester, his forever home. On many Saturday mornings Philip could be found at his dining room table visiting with his adult children and their families, often reminiscing about days past. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Arrangements for a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, that a donation be made on behalf of Philip to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, a charity that was always very special to Phil and Jennie.  For more information and to sign his online guestbook, visit www.meesonfamily.com

Denise, Sean, Shannon and Amber: Although I never met your father and grandpa, I have always had the greatest love and respect for you and your family values. I am sure they were instilled in you by his great example. Please know I send you my deepest sympathy and love during this sad time. I am so sorry for your loss. Kathy Hamblin

Alaina, Johanna and family my deepest sympathy on the loss of your Dad. He truly was a wonderful man! He was such a proud man, father, uncle, grandfather and friend, he loved everyone. I spent many days and nights at your house when we were young, listening to your dad’s stories, making wine and just hanging out. I always loved being with the family and miss those days a lot! I have very special memories of both your parents and they loved me like one of their own. RIP Mr. Salamone and keep them laughing in Heaven like you did here on Earth. Love and hugs to the entire family. Prayers to all! Love, Lisa
