Dear Angela,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences for the passing of
your husband, Bob.
My name is David Spence. You may or may not remember me, but
I worked with Bob at G.E. in Utica and, again, in Hong Kong. Bob and I lost
touch when I was assigned (for eight years) in Tokyo for G.E. But, when I
decided to leave G.E. in 1979, Bob told me that Xerox was looking for someone
with my experience working in Japan and S.E. Asia. As a result, I was hired and
spent the next twenty four years with Xerox (five of those years on assignment
in Japan). Unfortunately, Bob’s work at Xerox and mine were in two very
different areas and we had few enough opportunities to interact there but,
while he was in Hong Kong, he and I worked closely together. I always liked
Bob. I was saddened to hear of his passing.
